Rhizome short, suberect; scales ovate, obtuse, yellowish-brown.
Stipes congested, less than 1 cm long; lamina narrowly oblanceolate or linear, 2-3 mm wide, apex obtuse, base acuminate; lamina 4-8 cm long; margins entire; costa visible on both surfaces, ridged beneath; lateral veins visible beneath, finer venation hidden; both surfaces sparsely hairy, marginal and stipe hairs often tufted, sometimes solitary, reddish-brown.
Sori round or oval, subcostal; sporangia often with one or two terminal setose hairs.
